Sheriff: New video possibly reveals whereabouts of Texas teenage girl missing since Christmas Eve

Authorities have obtained dashboard camera footage that may show a Texas teenage girl, Camila Mendoza Olmos, who has been missing since Christmas Eve. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office released security footage showing a person believed to be Mendoza Olmos searching her car in her driveway around 7 a.m. on Wednesday. Now, investigators have dash cam footage from a driver passing a woman who may be Mendoza Olmos on the same morning a few blocks from her home.

Sheriff Javier Salazar mentioned at a news conference that while he couldn’t confirm with absolute certainty that the person in the video is Mendoza Olmos, the clothing description matches. He stated that they are sharing the footage with the hope that others might have similar recordings.

The search for Mendoza Olmos has been ongoing around the clock since she went missing. Authorities reported that she typically takes morning walks, but her mother became concerned when she did not return as expected. The FBI and Department of Homeland Security have joined the search, with the FBI providing technical support and DHS monitoring border crossings and international travel.

According to Sheriff Salazar, Mendoza Olmos is a U.S. citizen and was not detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He emphasized the urgency of the search, describing Mendoza Olmos as being in “imminent danger.” The only items missing were her car keys and possibly her driver’s license, unusual for someone with her typically active lifestyle.

Mendoza Olmos had recently experienced a mutual breakup, but authorities do not suspect foul play. Salazar requested the community’s help in searching for her, urging neighbors to check their surveillance cameras for any relevant footage. She was last seen wearing a baby-blue and black hoodie, baby-blue pajama bottoms, and white shoes.
