A recent dashboard camera video potentially captures the moment a Texas teenage girl, Camila Mendoza Olmos, disappeared on Christmas Eve, according to authorities. Mendoza Olmos, 19, was last seen on Wednesday morning, as reported by the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office. Initial security footage released by investigators showed someone believed to be Mendoza Olmos searching her car in the driveway at around 7 a.m. that morning. Further investigation uncovered a dash cam recording from a passing driver that potentially showed a woman walking alone, which authorities suspect may be Mendoza Olmos, said Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar during a news conference on Monday. The footage was captured just a few blocks from her residence. While Sheriff Salazar expressed hesitancy in confirming Mendoza Olmos’ presence in the video with absolute certainty, he mentioned that the clothing descriptions align.

The sheriff emphasized that the video was being released in the hopes that others might have captured similar footage that could aid in the investigation. Additional surveillance from the community is being sought to piece together the events leading up to Mendoza Olmos’ disappearance. Search efforts have been ongoing, with numerous agencies, including the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, collaborating to support the search. Sheriff Salazar mentioned that no potential leads were being disregarded, including the possibility of the case extending beyond U.S. borders.

Despite being a U.S. citizen, Salazar clarified that Mendoza Olmos had not been detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, alleviating initial concerns. The only possessions she was known to have taken with her were her car keys and likely her driver’s license. Notably, leaving her phone behind was out of character for Mendoza Olmos, as she usually leads an active lifestyle, heightening concerns for her safety. The sheriff revealed that Mendoza Olmos had recently undergone a mutual breakup, with investigators ruling out any suspicious circumstances surrounding it.

Providing limited details about the disappearance, Sheriff Salazar implied that a sense of urgency was warranted, indicating that Mendoza Olmos may be facing imminent danger. Encouraging community involvement, Salazar urged neighbors to review their security footage for any potential sightings of Mendoza Olmos. Descriptions of her last whereabouts and attire, including a baby-blue and black hoodie, baby-blue pajama bottoms, and white shoes, have been made public. Individuals with any information regarding her location are urged to contact the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office promptly.

As the search for Camila Mendoza Olmos continues, law enforcement officials remain committed to exhaustively investigating her disappearance, leaving no stone unturned in the effort to ensure her safe return.
