The Black Crowes announce release of new album, “A Pound Of Feathers”
The highly anticipated 10th studio album from The Black Crowes, titled A Pound Of Feathers, is set to be released on March 13 via Silver Arrow Records. Following the success of their critically acclaimed 2024 album Happiness Bastards, the band is ready to push the boundaries of their blues, soul, and rock fusion with this new record.
Lead singer Chris Robinson reflects on the creative process behind the album, stating, “We made this record in eight to 10 days. Bringing the high and inspiration from Happiness Bastards into this album, it was a natural progression. We experimented more, we wrote on instinct and how we were feeling in the moment.” His brother and guitarist, Rich Robinson, adds, “This album feels transformative to us. Going back to our roots, we felt that spark in the studio and how we work together. Lighting a fire that hits harder, more jagged but is still true to our musical essence.”
The album announcement was accompanied by the release of the energetic track “Profane Prophecy,” giving fans a taste of what to expect from A Pound Of Feathers. The Black Crowes, founded by brothers Chris and Rich Robinson, have had a remarkable career spanning four decades. From their 5x-Platinum debut Shake Your Money Maker to their once-in-a-lifetime collaboration with Jimmy Page, the band has constantly evolved while staying true to their musical roots.
Recorded in Nashville with Grammy-winning producer Jay Joyce, A Pound Of Feathers showcases The Black Crowes as a fearless band operating at the peak of their creative abilities. The tracklisting for the album includes songs like “Cruel Streak,” “Pharmacy Chronicles,” and “High And Lonesome,” among others. The band’s ability to blend various genres seamlessly is evident in the diversity of tracks on the album.
With A Pound Of Feathers, The Black Crowes have once again proven their enduring significance in the rock and roll landscape. This new record stands as a testament to their artistic fire and passion for creating music that resonates with audiences across generations. Fans can look forward to the release of A Pound Of Feathers on March 13 and experience the band’s electrifying new sound firsthand.
