The Black Crowes reveal upcoming album titled ‘A Pound of Feathers’
The Black Crowes, iconic rock musicians, have recently unveiled plans for their upcoming album titled “A Pound of Feathers.” Scheduled for release on March 13th through Silver Arrow Records, this album follows closely on the heels of their acclaimed record “Happiness Bastards” from 2024, which received a Grammy nomination for “Best Rock Album.”
With Grammy-winning producer Jay Joyce at the helm, “A Pound of Feathers” was recorded in Nashville, where it reportedly came together in just a mere eight to ten days. The Robinson brothers, who lead the band, seem determined to maintain their creative momentum, infusing their music with a unique fusion of blues, soul, and rock.
Lead vocalist Chris Robinson reflected on the swift recording process, noting the natural progression from their previous album: “Bringing the high and inspiration from Happiness Bastards into this album, it was a natural progression. We experimented more, we wrote on instinct and how we were feeling in the moment. Rich brought a spontaneity to the record that I can’t describe, but it’s the best shit he’s ever done.”
Guitarist Rich Robinson also shared his thoughts, stating that the album feels transformative for the band: “Going back to our roots, we felt that spark in the studio and how we work together. Lighting a fire that hits harder, more jagged but is still true to our musical essence.”
The Black Crowes have already treated their fans to two singles from the upcoming album. “Profane Prophecy” kicks off with a funky groove, while “Pharmacy Chronicles” offers a more introspective and contemplative tone.
