YouTuber claims $16M more in fraud linked to Minnesota transportation firms

whistleblower David Hoch made shocking revelations about alleged fraud linked to nonemergency medical transportation companies and childhood daycare centers in Minneapolis. Shirley exposed what he believes to be an extensive network of fraudulent practices that have siphoned off millions of dollars in government funds.

During the video, Shirley and Hoch visited various nonemergency medical transportation companies based on addresses found in government documents. What they discovered was startling. Some of the listed addresses turned out to be unsuitable for a transportation business to operate from, such as apartments, corner stores, and unmarked offices within commercial buildings. Shirley highlighted how multiple transportation companies were registered at the same address, using slightly modified names. Upon visiting these locations, he observed a lack of parking space and signs of vehicle use, casting doubt on the legitimacy of these businesses.

Despite facing pushback from members of the local Somali community who accused him of causing harm, Shirley pressed on with his investigation. Unlike previous allegations involving daycare facilities, where state funding amounts were detailed, Shirley’s estimates of fraud regarding transportation companies were based on factors like the number of rides provided, costs per ride, and fleet sizes of similar businesses in Minnesota. It is worth noting that the accused companies did not receive Medicaid funds, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Shirley’s claims align with an ongoing investigation by the Minnesota State Attorney General’s office under PITSTOP-66, leading to charges against 30 individuals. Furthermore, the Department of Justice is probing nearly half of the $18 billion in Medicaid payments distributed in Minnesota for possible fraud, including payments to nonemergency medical transportation providers. Notably, the companies highlighted by Shirley did not receive Medicaid funds, underscoring the widespread nature of fraudulent practices in the state.

In light of these serious allegations, The National News Desk attempted to reach out to relevant parties for comments, including Minnesota’s Attorney General, the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party, and the Minnesota Republican Party. The video released by Shirley has sparked significant interest and concern regarding the integrity of government funds allocated to nonemergency medical transportation companies and daycare centers in Minnesota. It underscores the importance of robust oversight and accountability mechanisms to prevent and address fraudulent activities that exploit public resources.
