K-pop Groups Sweep Charts
Billboard recently released the World Albums chart for the week that ended on January 17!
Maintaining its reign, Stray Kids held firmly onto the top position with their newest album “DO IT,” also securing its spot at No. 155 on the Billboard 200 for the seventh consecutive week.
Stray Kids didn’t just stop at one chart-topping album, as they managed to impressively have six different albums secure spots on the World Albums chart. Aside from “DO IT,” their albums “KARMA,” “合 (HOP),” “ATE,” “★★★★★ (5-STAR),” and “ROCK-STAR” also maintained their positions on the chart.
BTS’s 2022 anthology album “Proof” made its way back into the top rankings at No. 4 in its 187th week on the World Albums chart, with their 2020 hit album “Map of the Soul: 7” re-entering the chart at No. 12 after already spending an impressive 155 weeks on the chart.
Cortis, with their debut EP “COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES,” claimed the fifth position on the chart, further diversifying the list of the top performers.
ENHYPEN’s “DESIRE: UNLEASH” continued to enchant fans as it secured the No. 9 spot in its 32nd week on the chart. Their 2024 album “ROMANCE: UNTOLD” also held its ground at No. 23 in its 78th week on the chart.
NewJeans’ EP “Get Up” from 2023 saw an impressive jump to No. 11, making its mark on the chart for 122 weeks. ILLIT’s “bomb” came in at No. 13 in its 29th week, showcasing the diversity of artists occupying the chart.
BTS’s Jimin made his presence known with his solo album “MUSE” rising to No. 14 in its 77th week on the chart. TXT’s Yeonjun with his solo mini-album “NO LABELS: PART 01” didn’t lag behind, climbing up to No. 15 in its ninth week.
TXT’s “The Star Chapter: TOGETHER” claimed the last spot in the top 20 in its 25th week on the chart, with BOYNEXTDOOR’s “The Action” following closely at No. 22 in its 11th week.
