A popular rock band from the 1990s is making a comeback with new music and an exciting world tour, marking their first in over three decades. Sugar, the alternative rock trio fronted by Bob Mould, is set to reunite for the “Love You Even Still 2026 World Tour,” which includes a show in Boston. This announcement comes on the heels of the band’s release of new music and successful residencies in New York and London.

The band, consisting of bassist David Barbe and drummer Malcolm Travis, unveiled their first new song in more than 30 years, titled “Long Live Love.” Produced by Butch Vig of Garbage and written by Mould back in 2007, the track was recorded in June 2025, showcasing a sound that pays homage to the album “Garbage 2.0.” In addition to this single, Sugar will be releasing another track called “House of Dead Memories” as a 7-inch single via BMG on May 1.

Bob Mould, hailing from Upstate New York and known for his work with the influential punk band Hüsker Dü before forming Sugar in 1992, expressed his excitement about reconnecting with fans. He mentioned to Rolling Stone that the reunion was motivated by a desire to gauge the continued interest of their audience. Initially created as a potential solo project, Sugar went on to release well-received albums like “Copper Blue” in 1992 and “File Under: Easy Listening” in 1994, making a mark on the alternative charts with hits such as “Helpless” and “Your Favorite Thing” before disbanding in 1995.

Fans eager to catch Sugar’s electrifying performances can get early access to ticket pre-sales on Jan. 27 by visiting sugarcopperblue.com. General ticket sales will commence on Jan. 30, with a portion of the tour’s proceeds set to support LGBTQ+ organizations, a meaningful gesture by the band.

The extensive tour itinerary features an array of dates across the UK, Europe, and the US, with stops in iconic venues such as Webster Hall in New York, O2 Forum Kentish Town in London, and The Warfield in San Francisco. With cities like Oslo, Paris, and Atlanta also on the list, fans around the world will have the chance to experience Sugar’s electrifying performances and savor the nostalgia of the ’90s rock era.

In conclusion, Sugar’s grand return signifies a momentous occasion for both the band and their devoted fan base, promising an unforgettable musical journey filled with nostalgia and new discoveries.
