A Manhattan dog named Greg is having a tough time adjusting to his new snow boots, which went viral on Instagram with nearly a million views. Greg, an Italian Greyhound residing in NoMad, struggled to walk in his new boots as he tried them on for the first time before heading out to Madison Square Park. His mom filmed the endearing moment of him awkwardly taking steps in the snow boots, posting it with the caption “Snow day in NYC… send help.”

In an interview, Greg’s mother, Andrea Liu, shared how the video came about, saying, “He was just trying his very best to walk in those boots and it looked so cute and funny, we had to take a video.” Initially, she uploaded it to her personal Instagram page, but upon encouragement from friends, she shared it on Greg’s own account @gregtheig, where he has amassed over 7,700 followers and quickly gained viral attention.

At two years old, Greg has only owned two pairs of boots. During his first winter, he had a pair that didn’t stay on well and he disliked wearing them. This year, his parents purchased a pair from HunnyBoots Australia, a brand specializing in clothing and accessories for greyhounds, which fit better but still meet resistance from Greg. Despite his reluctance with boots, Greg enjoys wearing his Bongoof puffer coat to stay warm during New York City winters due to his short fur.

Greg’s notoriety isn’t limited to his snow boots escapade; last summer, he garnered 20 million views for his adeptness at using a remote treat dispenser. His charming and amusing moments continue to draw attention on social media, showcasing the adorable antics of this beloved pooch in the heart of Manhattan.

Greg’s fluctuating relationship with his winter attire highlights the challenges that pets face when adjusting to seasonal changes and protective gear. Despite his initial struggles with the new snow boots, Greg’s adorable video brought joy to many online viewers, showcasing the endearing bond between pets and their owners.
