Lou Gramm makes a comeback with powerful rock ballad “Young Love”
Lou Gramm, the renowned vocalist and 2024 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, is set to release his self-produced solo album, “Released,” on March 27, 2026. The album showcases Gramm’s powerhouse vocals and features ten original tracks co-written by him and his former bandmate, Bruce Turgon from Black Sheep. The lead single, “Young Love,” captures the raw energy and passion of budding love with its classic AOR sound.
Gramm expressed his excitement about the new album, stating that it consists of unreleased songs recorded in the 1980s during the production of his previous solo albums. These songs, with their vintage sound taken from his old multitrack tapes, hold sentimental value for him. He shared that completing this album was like taking a trip down memory lane, recalling his collaboration with talented musicians and feeling a sense of fulfillment in completing his catalog.
“Released” features an impressive lineup of musicians, including Tony Franklin on bass for “Long Gone” and Vivian Campbell from Def Leppard on guitar for “Young Love.” Collaborations with long-time associates, such as Lou’s brother Ben Gramm on drums, contribute to the album’s timeless yet personal appeal. The physical album is available for pre-order in CD and limited-edition Ruby Red vinyl formats.
Hailing from Rochester, New York, Lou Gramm’s musical journey began with Black Sheep before joining forces with Mick Jones to form Foreigner in 1975. The band achieved immense success, becoming the first since The Beatles to have their first eight singles enter the US Top 20. Apart from his Foreigner stardom, Gramm found solo success with albums like “Ready Or Not” and “Long Hard Look.” With “Released,” Lou marks his third solo studio album, cementing his place in both his solo discography and Foreigner’s iconic repertoire.
Notably, “Released” includes the acoustic version of “True Blue Love” from “Long Hard Look,” showcasing the evolution of Gramm’s musical career. Following Foreigner’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2024, Lou Gramm plans to embark on a tour throughout 2026, including solo performances and special appearances with Foreigner.
The tracklisting for “Released” features ten songs that encapsulate Gramm’s distinctive sound and style. The album will be available in various formats, including digital, Dolby Atmos, CD, and vinyl. Fans can expect an immersive experience that embodies Lou Gramm’s musical legacy and contribution to rock music.
As Lou Gramm gears up for the release of “Released” and subsequent tour dates, his unique blend of powerhouse vocals and heartfelt lyrics continues to resonate with audiences worldwide.
