Lou Gramm’s latest studio album, “Released,” now available
Lou Gramm, the renowned voice of Foreigner, has recently announced the upcoming release of a new solo album titled “Released.” The album, scheduled for release on March 27, 2026, under the HNE label of Cherry Red Records, presents ten original songs co-written by Gramm and his former Black Sheep bandmate, Bruce Turgon. Capturing the classic AOR sound that has been synonymous with Gramm’s career, “Released” offers a nostalgic trip into the 1980s with powerful and heartfelt songs taken from Gramm’s old multi-track tapes.
The album is a collection of previously unreleased tracks that were recorded during the production of Gramm’s earlier solo albums. Gramm expressed his excitement about finally sharing these songs with his fans, emphasizing the significance of completing his catalog with this new release. Produced by Gramm himself, “Released” features guest appearances from notable musicians such as Tony Franklin on bass and Vivian Campbell on guitar, enhancing the album’s dynamic sound.
Born and raised in Rochester, New York, on May 2, 1950, Gramm’s musical journey began within his family before venturing into the music industry. His encounter with Mick Jones in 1975 marked the formation of Foreigner, propelling Gramm into a successful career with the band. Foreigner’s string of multi-platinum albums and hit singles, including classics like “Feels Like the First Time” and “I Want To Know What Love Is,” solidified their status as one of the era’s iconic rock bands.
In addition to his achievements with Foreigner, Gramm found solo success with albums like “Ready or Not” (1987) and “Long Hard Look” (1989), featuring hit songs such as “Midnight Blue” and “Just Between You and Me.” “Released” serves as the final piece in Gramm’s solo discography, complementing his previous work while showcasing his enduring talent as a solo artist and collaborator.
The album tracklist includes a reimagined version of “True Blue Love” from “Long Hard Look,” alongside new compositions like “Young Love” and “Long Gone.” Following Gramm’s recent collaboration with Foreigner during their Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, he is set to embark on a tour in support of “Released,” with concert dates scheduled for March.
