Iron Maiden frontman, Bruce Dickinson, has been hard at work in Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Northridge, California, preparing his upcoming solo album, set to be released no earlier than 2027. This much-anticipated record will follow his 2024 release, The Mandrake Project. While the album’s name is still unknown, reports suggest that it may be one of Dickinson’s most compelling works outside the Iron Maiden sphere.

The buzz around Dickinson’s album intensified after Jeff Scott Soto, musician and composer, shared a picture of himself at Studio 606 alongside Dickinson. In a gleeful post, Soto mentioned that he arrived at the studio just in time to witness the final vocal takes by the iconic singer. Dickinson generously offered Soto a sneak peek into some of his new songs, leaving Soto thoroughly impressed. Soto even went as far as predicting that this album could potentially rank among Dickinson’s greatest works to date beyond Iron Maiden.

Adding to the excitement of the collaboration, Sepultura guitarist Andreas Kisser has also hinted at his involvement in the project by sharing photos from the studio, playing percussion beside Dickinson. Kisser expressed his gratitude, calling Dickinson a “great master of metal” and a “gentleman and a legend.” The involvement of acclaimed musicians like Kisser and Grohl hints at a heavier musical direction for this upcoming album.

The new album brings back key contributors from The Mandrake Project, including co-writer and producer Roy “Z” Ramirez, keyboardist Mistheria, and drummer Dave Moreno. However, the creative ensemble has expanded to include Andreas Kisser and potentially other members of the metal community. Derrick Green, frontman of Sepultura, was also seen with Dickinson in a selfie shared on social media, further fueling anticipation for this exciting collaboration.

In a recent podcast, Dickinson discussed his approach to recording, emphasizing an old-school style with all members playing together in the same room. The intention is to capture the raw essence of the music without excessive re-recording. The involvement of top-tier musicians like Grohl, Kisser, and Green, coupled with Dickinson’s passion for a genuine recording process, sets the stage for a record that promises to be a highlight in his solo career.

As Dickinson continues to hone his craft and collaborate with music industry legends, fans eagerly await the release of his upcoming solo album. With the bar set high by his previous works, the anticipation surrounding this album is palpable, setting the stage for a notable addition to Bruce Dickinson’s illustrious career.
