KORN has no plans to release new album in near future

Korn fans who are eagerly awaiting the band’s upcoming album may need to exercise a bit of patience, as the band is content with taking their time instead of rushing the creative process. In a recent conversation with Loudwire, Brian “Head” Welch, the band’s guitarist, expressed that Korn is reveling in the break from their usual album-release schedule.

“I really love the fact that it’s taking a long time,” Welch remarked. “We’re just so addicted to the studio that we get in there and we’re putting albums out every two or three years, ever since I rejoined. And so I love that there’s been delays.”

With a three-decade-long career behind them, Korn is deliberately hitting the pause button on churning out new music. Rather than pressuring themselves with a release date, the band is focusing on enhancing their current repertoire, leveraging their extensive catalog of fan-favorite tracks.

“We’re a fortunate band; we’ve been around for a while, and we’ve got an extensive catalog with a lot of well-known songs,” shared Welch. “We’re focusing right now on our live show … It feels like we don’t even need a new album. Everything’s just going so well, but that’s not to say we’re not going to find some time to go in again. I feel like it’s not the priority right now.”

Despite the lack of a new album, Korn has been busy on the creative front. Welch confirmed that the band will convene soon to review their progress and hinted at some potential surprises in store for their fans in 2026.

“We’re going to meet together and see where we’re at,” he revealed. “There could be a couple of surprises this year … We’re going to have some cool announcements for dates around the world and stuff coming this year.”

While Korn’s next album may not be imminent, fans can rest assured that the band’s creative gears are still turning behind the scenes, sparking anticipation and excitement for what’s to come.
