CORROSION OF CONFORMITY to Release Massive Double Album in April
American metal veterans, Corrosion of Conformity, are about to launch a monumental double album titled Good God / Baad Man on April 3, 2026, under the Nuclear Blast label. This ambitious release marks a significant moment in the band’s history, marked by both tragedy and transformation.
Following the success of their 2018 album No Cross No Crown, the iconic lineup of Pepper Keenan, Woody Weatherman, Reed Mullin, and Mike Dean had solidified their place as pioneers in the heavy metal scene. With a career that spans over four decades, starting from their punk roots in Raleigh, NC back in 1982, Corrosion of Conformity has created a musical legacy that transcends genres, appealing to fans of punk, metal, and rock.
However, in January 2020, the band faced a heartbreaking loss with the passing of drummer Reed Mullin, followed by the amicable departure of bassist Mike Dean. Despite these challenges, Corrosion of Conformity reunited with Pepper Keenan and Woody Weatherman and sought inspiration from a wide array of artists like Discharge, ZZ Top, Motörhead, Neil Young, and Black Sabbath. The outcome of this creative endeavor is a sprawling double album conceptualized as Good God and Baad Man.
Pepper Keenan explains the duality of the two albums, stating, “As we went on, we had such a crazy plethora of songs, it was almost like two different directions. We knew we had to split it into two different albums… Good God leans toward the heavier/pissed end of the spectrum. Baad Man is more on the throwdown rock scope. Each album is its own tiny universe.”
Accompanying Keenan and Weatherman on this new venture are drummer Stanton Moore, known for his work on Corrosion of Conformity’s 2005 album In the Arms of God, and bassist Bobby “Rock” Landgraf, who brings his experience from working with Down and Honky to the table. The band emphasizes that many of the tracks on this new release are paying tribute to Reed Mullin, with Keenan expressing, “With a lot of these songs, we’re trying to make Reed Mullin proud. He was a badass, and a one-of-a-kind drummer. The stakes were high.”
The album’s lead single, “Gimme Some Moore,” features backing vocals from Al Jourgensen of Ministry and Monte Pittman, Madonna’s guitarist, encapsulating the raw energy reminiscent of Corrosion of Conformity’s youth. Keenan describes the songwriting process, stating, “Me and Woody wanted to write a song as if we were 17 years old again… We even made a seven-inch for it.”
The music video for “Gimme Some Moore” was created under Keenan’s direction and filmed by Mike Holderbeast. Produced by Grammy-winning Warren Riker and showcasing cover art by acclaimed New Orleans artist Scott Guion, Good God / Baad Man was recorded across various studios, including Blak Shak Studios in Riffissippi, Dockside Studios in Louisiana, and Bee Gee Barry Gibb’s home studio in Miami, Florida.
Following the album’s release, Corrosion of Conformity is embarking on a tour across North America, headlining with support from Whores and Crobot, with dates starting from April 7 in Atlanta, leading up to a grand finale in Asheville on May 3. Fans can anticipate a blend of classic hits alongside fresh tracks from the upcoming double album, promising an enthralling live experience.
