Compton hosts summer event for domestic abuse survivors

This summer, the village of Compton is set to host a music festival with a purpose. The event, organized by Sue Walsh, is a first for the community and promises to shake things up in a positive way. With the support of the local community, the festival aims to raise funds for Berkshire Women’s Aid, a charity dedicated to helping survivors of domestic abuse.

Scheduled for Saturday, July 11, the festival will take place in a private field in Compton. The lineup features local rock talent, including The Funky Monks Red Hot Chilli Pepper experience, Sterofakeits, and The Hormones. The event will kick off at 2:30 pm and run into the evening, offering festival-goers a chance to enjoy some great music while supporting a worthy cause.

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses like David Wilson Homes, Renegade Brewery, and Maguires of Maidenhead scaffolding, the festival has come together as a true community effort. In addition to the music, attendees can also look forward to a selection of street food to keep them fueled throughout the day.

Every ticket sold for the festival will contribute directly to the fundraising goal for Berkshire Women’s Aid. The organizers are hopeful that the event will not only raise much-needed funds but also bring the community together in solidarity.
