Lowertown reveals new album and tour, releases “I Like You a Lot”
Lowertown, composed of Olivia Osby and Avsha Weinberg, have revealed details about their upcoming album, “Ugly Duckling Union,” set to be released on May 22 via Summer Shade. Osby and Weinberg took charge of writing, recording, producing, and mixing the album themselves. Osby expressed that she believes their music is tailored for individuals like them, describing it as music “for the misfit toys.”
The duo has also introduced the first single from the album, titled “I Like You A Lot”, which delves into the excitement and uncertainty of a newfound crush. The track explores the feelings of admiration and longing for someone from a distance, capturing the anticipation and nervousness around whether these feelings will be reciprocated. Osby and Weinberg, who directed and edited the video for the single, highlight the obsessive and euphoric nature of falling for someone you barely know.
Lowertown has not only been busy working on their album but has also announced an extensive North American tour, scheduled to kick off on April 28 in Philadelphia. The tour will run through June, concluding with a show at NYC’s Bowery Ballroom on June 27 alongside Holidays in United States. Tickets for all tour dates are set to go on sale on Friday, February 13 at 10 AM local time, with presales currently available.
The tracklist for “Ugly Duckling Union” includes a total of 12 songs, such as “Mice Protection”, “Worst Friend”, “Echo of Desire”, “Forgive Yourself”, and more. Each song promises a unique blend of Lowertown’s signature style, showcasing their diverse range and storytelling abilities.
