New Song “Country Nowadays” by Lee Brice – A Rant

me you’re having a tough time of it, Lee Brice? Why, because you defaulted on your yacht loan because you haven’t had a hit in six years? Quit being such a pussy. Listen folks, don’t be coerced into thinking you must defend this song just because it lands on your side of the stupid culture war. I’d rather country music succumb to AI slop than this panty-waist, fear-mongering, obsequious and slavish pandering to a constituency, slobbering over low-hanging culture war issues like it’s a vein-popping male appendage.

The issue of gender and social constructs needs a step back, allowing kids to go through the exploration process before making life-altering health decisions when they’re still developing. “Country Nowadays” feels like it’s been sitting on a shelf since 2020 for good reason. The song seems abruptly outdated compared to Aaron Lewis and Oliver Anthony’s more timely tracks. If Lee Brice’s song is currently #1 in all of music, why the need to complain? As we throw verbal punches over songs like this, the elites from both parties continue to deplete the treasury and impoverish us all. The studio version of the controversial track is set to release on February 19th, promoting politics in country music. The song’s portrayal conveys a negative image of right-wingers, harming the genre’s reputation.

Song politicization leads to divisive tracks like “Country Nowadays” that fail to represent authentic country music today. Lee Brice’s attempt to stay relevant comes off as desperate and might drag down the entire genre with him. It’s preferable to discard such creations rather than promoting them further. This song embodies a skewed perspective and seeks attention for a dwindling career. Whether it’s the ear-grating Maren Morris tunes or this type of content, “Country Nowadays” doesn’t faithfully reflect the current country music scene and risks tarnishing its reputation.
