Believe Announces Debut Album “Believe” and Shares Track “Numerology”
In 2024, the renowned experimental London post-punk band Black Midi made the heartbreaking announcement that they were disbanding indefinitely. This decision came following the sudden and tragic passing of their original guitarist, Matt Kwasniewski-Kelvin, at just 26 years old. In the wake of this loss, former bandmates have embarked on new musical endeavors, exploring different configurations and avenues of artistic expression.
Geordie Greep, a member of Black Midi, unveiled his solo project with the release of his debut album titled The New Sound in 2024. Meanwhile, bassist Cameron Picton introduced his new project, My New Band Believe, and has recently announced the upcoming release of their own LP. Approximately a year ago, Cameron Picton introduced My New Band Believe to the world with their debut single, “Lecture 25.” Fans can anticipate the release of the band’s self-titled album this spring, which promises to deliver a unique listening experience.
For those who purchase CD copies of My New Band Believe’s album, they will be treated to bonus discs featuring seven different versions of the captivating new track, “Numerology.” Vinyl enthusiasts, on the other hand, can look forward to a 10″ single of the same song. “Numerology,” while not part of the main album, offers a high-energy and eclectic blend of acoustic guitars, free jazz horn-squeaks, funky calypso bursts, and infectious ba-ba-ba harmonies. The track exudes a dynamic and exhilarating vibe, reminiscent of what one might expect if Basement Jaxx decided to explore the realm of acoustic music.
To complement the album release, My New Band Believe has also announced a series of tour dates where fans can witness their electrifying sound live. The band is scheduled to perform in various cities across the UK and North America, including stops in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, London, New York, Montreal, and more. The tour is set to kick off in April and will run through June, providing audiences with the opportunity to experience the band’s music in person.
My New Band Believe’s self-titled album is set to drop on April 10, courtesy of Rough Trade Records. With a tracklist featuring songs such as “Target Practice,” “Heart Of Darkness,” “Opposite Teacher,” and “One Night,” the album promises to showcase the band’s innovative and diverse musical style. Fans and music enthusiasts alike are eagerly anticipating the release of this highly anticipated record and the opportunity to witness My New Band Believe’s captivating live performances.
