NEKROGOBLIKON to Release EP “The Boiling Sea” and Share Track “The Secret Elephant” featuring REEL
Nekrogoblikon, the beloved goblin metal pioneers, have a new EP titled “The Boiling Sea” set to release on April 17, marking a monumental new chapter in their nearly two-decade strong career. The EP signals a significant change for the band as the goblin throne is now being shared for the first time.
Presenting their new single “The Secret Elephant,” featuring Reel Big Fish, in a delightfully chaotic music video directed by Brandon Dermer, Nekrogoblikon is painting the town red with their full-fledged technicolor absurdity. The former mascot turned frontman, John Goblikon, is taking center stage with his impressive melodic vocals. The EP also highlights extreme metal powerhouse Dickie Allen of Infant Annihilator, adding a spine-chilling edge to the band’s signature melodic mayhem.
Goblikon humorously noted, “I’ve been asked to give a statement on our new song ‘Secret Elephant’ and after strong consideration, I’ve decided I’m not quite sure know what that means. But what I DO know is secrets don’t make friends… unless that secret is, of course, an elephant who you happened to befriend.” Meanwhile, Allen added a witty note, “It was so much fun filming ourselves being goofballs. Also, has anyone seen my beer?”
The EP, produced and mixed by the metal maven Jason Suecof, is a treat for fans with its new dual-vocal approach, initially introduced in 2025 with the double-feature videos “Show Me Your Goblin” and “Fiend.” Guitarist Alex Alereza reflected on the band’s breakneck creative process for the EP, stating, “Writing for this release began in the midst of constant touring and right after bringing on a new vocal duo, so we found ourselves in new territories both in terms of pace and creative process.”
Excited for the release, Alereza added, “We had a blast making this together and hope everyone enjoys these songs as much as we do. And for the Nekro fans that have been with us for a very long time, we decided to include live recordings of five Nekro classics!” The goblin horde is prepared to take the stage alongside Japan’s metal fusion force Hanabie as they embark on a thrilling goblin metal extravaganza packed with madness, infectious hooks, and rampant energy.
