Zakk Wylde explains Black Label Society’s Ozzy tribute – ROCK 92.9 in Boston
Black Label Society has announced that they will be releasing their much-anticipated studio album, Engines Of Demolition, on Mar. 27. This will be the band’s first studio album since 2021, and fans are eagerly looking forward to its release. The band is set to kick off their tour on Feb. 27 in San Antonio, Texas.
Zakk Wylde, the driving force behind Black Label Society, began working on the album back in 2022 while on tour with Pantera and completed it in 2025. One of the highlights of the album is a heartfelt ballad titled “Ozzy’s Song,” a tribute to the legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne. Wylde describes Engines Of Demolition as a reflection of the highs and lows he has experienced over the past four years, capturing a range of emotions. Some of the tracks on the album include “Name In Blood” and “Lord Humungus.”
Wylde’s association with Osbourne dates back to the late 1980s, where he played guitar for the iconic musician. He then went on to form Black Label Society, a band he has fronted for over two decades. In addition to his work with Black Label Society, Wylde also joined Pantera for their celebration tour, showcasing his versatility as a musician.
The tour will cover various cities across North America, with the final show scheduled for Apr. 10 in Charlotte, North Carolina. Members of the band will be pulling double duty on the tour, with performances from Zakk Sabbath and Dark Chapel as opening acts. Zakk Sabbath comprises Wylde, Jeff Fabb, and John DeServio, while Dark Chapel features Dario Lorina. The tour will see a total of 43 shows across the United States and Canada, hitting cities such as Dallas, Denver, Seattle, Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, and Philadelphia.
Following the North American leg, Black Label Society will be heading to the UK and Europe for a series of shows starting on May 28 in Glasgow, Scotland, and wrapping up on Aug. 14 in Leipzig, Germany. They will be joined by Venom as openers from May 28 to Jun. 30, with additional support from bands like Thrown Into Exile, Sacred Reich, Thundermother, and Metal Church. The tour will also include performances at prominent festivals such as Tons of Rock in Oslo, Norway, and the Hills of Rock Festival in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
