Tickets for most of the June and July shows will go on sale on February 20th at 10 am CET. The band has also added additional shows to their 2026 North American tour, with stops in cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, and New York. North American tickets are currently available for purchase.
The forthcoming album, “sunn O))),” is scheduled for release on April 3rd, 2026, and can be preordered on CD, 2xLP, and all streaming platforms worldwide through Sub Pop. Preorders through the North American Sub Pop Mega Mart will receive a limited Loser edition on opaque blue vinyl, while European preorders will receive the Loser Edition on oxblood vinyl.
The album features artwork by Mark Rothko on the front and back covers, with liner notes by author Robert Macfarlane, whose work “Is a River Alive?” served as inspiration for the album. French artist Elodie Lesourd has provided illustrations for the inner LP sleeves and accompanying merch. sunn O))) members Stephen O’Malley and Greg Anderson have been pioneers in the heavy music scene for nearly three decades, blending avant-garde and rock influences to create their signature sound.
Recorded at Bear Creek Studios in Woodinville, Washington, the album captures the duo’s mastery of sound and atmosphere. Collaborators like Attila Csihar, Hildur Guðnadóttir, and Steve Moore have contributed to their past work, but on this album, O’Malley and Anderson perform all the instruments themselves. The music reflects the natural surroundings of the recording location, with moments of delicate beauty interspersed among thunderous feedback and ominous tones.
sunn O)))’s music is an immersive experience that combines sound, word, and visual elements to create a unique and captivating journey for listeners. Their upcoming album promises to push boundaries and explore new sonic landscapes, solidifying their status as innovators in the heavy music genre.
