Beartooth is set to unveil their latest track, “Free,” on Friday, February 27. The band treated fans to a live performance of the song at the Salt Lake City’s Delta Center during the opening show of their North American tour alongside Bad Omens. Footage captured by attendees quickly circulated online following the February 22 concert, creating buzz around their newest release. This upcoming single marks their first music release since collaborating with Tom Morello in 2025.

Fronted by Caleb Shomo, Beartooth has been a force in the rock scene for over a decade. Shomo’s multifaceted talents as a singer and instrumentalist have been pivotal in the band’s success. Their debut album, “Disgusting,” made waves in 2014, garnering acclaim from rock enthusiasts. A pivotal moment came when they performed at the Vans Warped Tour, gaining a dedicated following among the festival’s attendees.

Subsequent albums, including “Aggressive” in 2016, “Disease” in 2018, “Below” in 2021, and “The Surface” in 2023, showcased Shomo’s continuous evolution as an artist. “The Surface” made an impressive impact by topping charts such as Billboard Hard Rock Albums, Luminate Alternative Albums, and Luminate Record Label Independent Current Albums. The album also secured a spot at No. 5 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. The track “I Was Alive” soared to the top of both Billboard Mainstream Airplay and the U.S. Mediabase Active Rock radio chart, solidifying Beartooth’s presence in the rock genre.

In a significant move prior to their latest release, Beartooth dropped “The Surface (Deluxe Edition)” in September 2024 through Red Bull Records. This edition offered fans the new track “ATTN.,” alongside reworked mixes and live recordings from a performance at Sacramento’s Hard Rock venue. Shomo’s reflection on their discography to date, labeling the first five albums as a “run-on sentence” from “Disgusting” to “The Surface,” set the stage for an exciting new chapter in Beartooth’s journey.

Looking ahead, Shomo expressed anticipation for the band’s next phase, asserting that chapter two of Beartooth, which he envisions spanning albums 30 to 40, will bring fresh and thrilling opportunities. With “Free” set to drop imminently, fans are eagerly awaiting the band’s latest musical endeavor, poised to further solidify Beartooth’s reputation as a powerhouse in the rock industry.
