Vomitory set to debut new album “In Death Throes” on April 10, 2026

The roots of Vomitory run deep in the death metal scene, having been a prominent figure since their formation in 1989. Over the years, they have released a total of eight albums, solidifying their status as genre legends before their brief hiatus in 2013. However, in 2019, they made a triumphant return to commemorate their 30th anniversary, proving that their fire was far from extinguished. Following the success of their highly praised 2023 comeback album, “All Heads Are Gonna Roll”, the band is now gearing up for the release of “In Death Throes”.
Drummer Tobias Gustafsson provides insight into the album’s creation process, noting that while the core Vomitory sound remains intact, “In Death Throes” takes things up a notch. With the addition of new guitarist Christian Fredriksson, the band explores a slightly more diverse sound without straying too far from their established formula. Four tracks on the album feature Fredriksson’s contributions, adding a fresh perspective to Vomitory’s sound.
The recording process for “In Death Throes” spanned multiple studios in late 2025, with each member bringing their expertise to the table. Drums and vocals were captured at Leon Music Studios in Karlstad, Sweden, under the guidance of producer Rikard Löfgren, known for his work on previous Vomitory albums. Guitars and bass found their home at Goff Studios, with Fredriksson taking the reins as the engineer. The album’s mix and master were once again entrusted to Lawrence Mackrory, known for his work with bands like Paradise Lost and Bloodbath, at Rorysound Studios, ensuring a powerful and dynamic sound.
Visually, “In Death Throes” is just as captivating as it is musically. The album artwork, created by Giannis Nakos of Remedy Art Design, sets the tone for the relentless onslaught of death metal that awaits listeners. Meanwhile, Seiya Ogino of Ogino Design has crafted a layout that complements the album’s ferocity, creating a cohesive aesthetic that enhances the overall experience.
Leading up to the album’s release, Vomitory has unveiled the first single, “For Gore and Country”. The track encapsulates the band’s unrelenting energy, delivering a mix of classic Vomitory grind with moments of sheer headbanging intensity. Gustafsson describes it as a journey through a war-torn landscape, showcasing the band’s dedication to their craft.
With “In Death Throes” set to hit shelves in various formats, including CD, digital, and vinyl, Vomitory is gearing up for a string of European tour dates in 2026.
