In their latest music video for the song “Lost In Your Touch,” the renowned Butcher Babies from Los Angeles, creators of groove metal, have unleashed the emotional essence of their upcoming album. This single, produced by Howard Benson, a top-tier producer known for his work with P.O.D., Hoobastank, Kelly Clarkson, and Daughtry, marks their second release under the newly established label Judge & Jury Records, formed by Benson and Three Days Grace’s drummer Neil Sanderson. The album, yet to be titled, will serve as the successor to Butcher Babies’ 2023 ambitious double album “Eye for an Eye… / …’Til the World’s Blind.”

Lead vocalist Heidi Shepherd shared her sentiments about “Lost In Your Touch” which she described as a reflection on a profound personal experience. A decade ago, she witnessed the heart-wrenching reality of her partner falling in love with someone new, gradually displacing her from their shared world of late-night conversations and morning rituals. As she navigated the pain of this new scenario, Shepherd pondered if the new connection mirrored the depth of intimacy she once shared with her partner, questioning if the new relationship could match the intensity of their past connection. “Lost In Your Touch” encapsulates her emotional journey through this tumultuous chapter of heartbreak and self-discovery.

Working closely with Benson on this track was a unique experience for Shepherd, who highlighted the producer’s profound understanding of the song’s emotional narrative. Benson, drawn to the vulnerability and honesty within the lyrics, expressed his admiration for Shepherd’s ability to convey raw emotions, emphasizing the critical role of authentic delivery in connecting with audiences.

Shepherd hinted at the autobiographical nature of the forthcoming album, which promises to delve into deeply personal experiences spanning a quarter-century of her life. The album is poised to offer an intimate exploration of early-life moments that have remained undisclosed until now, providing listeners with an opportunity to glimpse into Shepherd’s emotional landscape.

Aside from their musical endeavors, Butcher Babies are set to embark on a tour alongside LYLVC and Eva Under Fire, accompanying the self-proclaimed “butt rock billionaire” Jeris Johnson. The band’s upcoming performances include a diverse lineup featuring support slots, solo shows, co-headlining gigs with Infected Rain, and appearances at various festivals including Sonic Temple, Rock Fest, and Louder Than Life.

As Butcher Babies prepare to unveil their highly anticipated album, fans can expect a deeply personal and introspective musical journey that reflects the band’s evolution over the years. Through their raw and emotive storytelling, Butcher Babies continue to captivate audiences with their unique blend of heavy metal and heartfelt lyricism.
