Video footage from a neighbor’s doorbell camera has recently emerged, shedding light on some crucial moments surrounding the tragic mass shooting that took place on 6th Street in Austin, Texas on March 1st. The video captures the suspect, identified as Ndiaga Diagne by the Austin Police Department, as he is seen departing from his apartment shortly before the deadly incident occurred.

In another poignant segment of footage, taken the day after the massacre, the same neighbor shared footage that depicts the FBI covering the exact camera during a raid on Diagne’s apartment on March 2nd. These images mark a significant development in piecing together the events that led up to the devastating shooting that claimed the lives of three individuals and left 14 others injured.

Following the incident, on Sunday, March 1st, residents at the Eastridge Apartments in Del Valle witnessed a harrowing scene as federal agents descended on unit 813 in the complex to execute a search warrant tied to the mass shooter. As agents surrounded the apartment, calling for occupants to stay away from windows, residents reported hearing gunshots and what seemed like a grenade detonating within the unit.

One anonymous resident recounted the chaos, with multiple law enforcement officials brandishing firearms, while another tenant, Alex Sky, observed the intense scene unfold outside their doorstep, noting the presence of canines, rifles, and armed agents. Inside the unit, federal agents combed through the residence diligently for anything linking Diagne to the deadly events that unfolded at the 6th Street bar.

This recent search marked the second location where law enforcement conducted search warrants associated with Diagne. Earlier, on the same day in Pflugerville, a home connected to the suspect was scoured for evidence, with ATF agents spotted removing boxes of materials that could aid in the investigation.

Austin Police Chief Lisa Davis confirmed that three individuals, including Astin himself, perished in the shooting, with another victim tragically succumbing to their injuries on March 2nd. The victims, identified as Savitha Shan, Ryder Harrington, and Jorge Pederson, were part of the scene at Buford’s bar, which was turned into a crime scene in the early morning hours following reports of a gunman menacing patrons.

Davis disclosed that the 53-year-old Diagne, born in Senegal and now a naturalized US citizen residing in Pflugerville, fired shots outside the bar, never entering the establishment, before law enforcement officers intervened, ultimately resulting in the loss of the perpetrator’s life. The investigation revealed that Diagne boasted two firearms during the confrontation, with one being discharged from his vehicle’s window and the other wielded as he stepped out of the car with a rifle.

As local authorities and the FBI continue to sift through a multitude of physical and digital evidence, including thousands of hours of video footage, residents, such as pedicab drivers Alex Freman, Silas Wildheart, and Heidi Nichole, recount the confusion and terror that unfolded that fateful night, underscoring the lasting impact of this tragedy on the community.
