Divided Sky’s Annual Music on the Mountain Festival Returns to Vermont
Divided Sky Foundation is excited to announce the return of Divided Sky’s BIG Weekend, a three-day event set for May 15-17 at Jackson Gore Village at Okemo Mountain Resort in Ludlow, Vermont. This family-friendly and substance-free weekend includes the 5th Annual Divided Sky Fun(d) Run and the third annual Music on the Mountain festival presented by The Phoenix.
Music on the Mountain will take place on Saturday, May 16 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET and will feature a fantastic lineup of artists. The event will showcase the genre-blending four-piece rock band Eggy, and the groove-driven trio LaMP, with the talented Scott Metzger (JRAD) joining Ray Paczkowski and Russ Lawton (Trey Anastasio Band, Soule Monde). Additionally, the electric bassist and songwriter Karina Rykman will make a return alongside Anders Osborne and Jackie Greene for a special performance.
Artists Daniel Donato and Natalie Cressman will also be returning as artists-at-large, and they will be joined by Jennifer Hartswick for the first time. A new addition this year includes 2ŁØT, known for blending electronic production, jazz fusion, and high-energy improvisation. The Trombone Shorty Foundation Band will also be performing, showcasing the talents of emerging New Orleans musicians and their blend of brass, funk, and soul.
The BIG Weekend All-Stars After Party will feature a unique ensemble comprising Karina Rykman, Brian Murray, Jimmy Law, Daniel Donato, Dezron Douglas, Joe Dyson, Jennifer Hartswick, and Natalie Cressman. This gathering promises to be a memorable and entertaining experience for all attendees.
The Divided Sky Foundation, a non-profit organization founded by Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio and case manager Melanie Gulde in 2020, focuses on addiction recovery. The foundation runs the Divided Sky Residential Recovery Program in Ludlow, which is a nonclinical, 46-bed addiction recovery center that opened in November 2023.
After Anastasio’s own journey of recovery following a 2006 arrest, he established the foundation to help those struggling with substance use. The foundation’s fundraising efforts started with Anastasio’s Beacon Jams in fall 2020, raising over $1.2 million for the cause.
The BIG Weekend will kick off with a special dinner concert called “Minstrels and Mocktails” featuring alumni musical guests Sean Leahy and Kate Gaffney. Following the dinner, guests can enjoy the Campfire Jam, an acoustic in-the-round concert where artists like Anders Osborne and Daniel Donato will perform.
The weekend will also include the 5th Annual Divided Sky Fun(d) Run, a scenic 5K supporting addiction recovery, and a free Acoustic Brunch featuring Murray’s Law and Vermont guitarist Evan Jennison. Participants can choose to register solo, join a team, or participate virtually from home.
