Electric State encourages fans to “Stand Up” with their latest single
Perth-based band Electric State has returned with their latest single, Stand Up, a powerful anthem urging listeners to stand up for their beliefs and fight for what they believe in. Combining elements of progressive grunge, punk, and hard rock, the band has quickly made a name for themselves in the Australian music scene since their formation in 2019. Stand Up, their first release under the XMusic label, showcases their ability to deliver hard-hitting, riff-driven music that leaves a lasting impact.
The lyrics of Stand Up challenge listeners to confront the pressures of life and the distractions of politics, emphasizing the importance of taking a stand and not remaining passive. The song’s intensity is matched by its music, blending heavy riffs with commanding vocals that set Electric State apart as musicians capable of creating both explosive and memorable tracks.
To celebrate the release of Stand Up, the band will host a sold-out launch event on the Ship Happens boat cruise along the Swan River on March 7th. Electric State is known for their electrifying live performances, where audience participation is encouraged, often including climbing on bars and using megaphones to create an immersive atmosphere. Fans are even invited to bring their own megaphones to join in the excitement.
Since their debut in 2019, Electric State, made up of Russell Christie, Paul Leahy, Rob Viney, and Bill Shaw, has captivated audiences with their dynamic shows at venues across Perth. Their reputation for high-energy performances featuring bar climbing, megaphones, and deafening chants has solidified them as a must-see act. Noteworthy appearances include headlining two stages at the Nannup Music Festival and touring internationally.
Their debut album, Green Machine, garnered praise and global recognition, leading to tours in Japan and the UK with support slots for prominent rock bands. Drawing inspiration from bands like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and Gyroscope, Electric State has crafted a sound that blends groove, melody, and heaviness into a unique style that resonates with fans of rock music.
After the success of their previous release, What Do You Want, which was mixed by renowned producer Anton Hagop, Electric State is gearing up for the launch of their upcoming album, Standing On The Edge, set for release on January 8, 2027. Both Stand Up and What Do You Want showcase the band’s ability to combine socially conscious lyrics with powerful rock instrumentation, establishing them as a leading force in the Australian rock scene.
The Ship Happens single launch promises to deliver the same chaotic energy that fans have come to expect from Electric State, cementing their status as a prominent fixture in Perth’s live music scene and hinting at further success under the XMusic label.
Don’t miss out on Electric State’s upcoming tour dates, including the Ship Happens Boat Cruise and performances at the XMusic 5th Birthday celebrations in Melbourne.
