Canadian singer Michael Bublé has taken a trip back home, figuratively speaking, with his latest musical endeavor. Teaming up with Roxane Bruneau, the duo has reimagined Bublé’s 2005 hit, “Home,” giving it a fresh French twist. The newly minted “Home (Version Française)” has found its way onto the Billboard Canada AC Airplay chart, landing at a respectable No. 19 on the rankings.

This collaboration between Bublé and Bruneau marks their first joint effort, and it all came about after an electrifying performance at the Juno Awards gala in Vancouver. Following their on-stage chemistry, Bublé reached out to Bruneau with the idea of breathing new life into his beloved song. The result is a spirited duet that seamlessly blends both artists’ vocals, with Bublé kicking things off in French before passing the microphone to Bruneau. They trade verses throughout the track, infusing it with a sense of warmth and energy that is truly captivating.

Bruneau, a rising star in Quebec’s music scene, acknowledges the privilege of working alongside Bublé. She describes him as not only an exceptional artist but also a wonderful person. Their musical connection was so strong that after their initial collaboration, Bublé wasted no time in expressing his desire to work together again. This led to the decision to record a duet version of his timeless classic, “Home.”

While “Home” may not have made waves on the Canadian Hot 100 due to the song’s release predating the chart’s inception, it did achieve success on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States. The track peaked at No. 72 and enjoyed a 20-week run on the chart, solidifying Bublé’s position as a chart-topping artist.

The Billboard Canada AC Airplay chart has seen an influx of talent from Quebec, with Jay Scott’s “On My Way” making its debut at No. 30. Known for his seamless blend of country and indie-folk sounds, Scott delivers a soulful and introspective track that speaks to personal growth and resilience. His latest album, “Toutes les rues sont silencieuses,” features poignant storytelling and a contemporary sound that has resonated with audiences across Canada.

In addition to Scott’s entry, the chart showcases a range of Canadian talent, including William Cloutier & Zach Chico, Laurence Nerbonne, and Alicia Moffett. The rap-rock group Down With Webster has also made a splash with their new single, “All Night,” which debuted at No. 39 on the CHR/Top 40 chart following a show-stopping performance at Mark Carney’s victory party.

As the charts continue to evolve, familiar faces like Bruno Mars and newcomers like Ella Langley dominate the top spots across various genres. Mars’s “I Just Might” maintains its reign as the No. 1 track on multiple charts, while Langley’s “Choosin’ Texas” holds strong on the Canada Country chart. However, challengers like Max McNown and Three Days Grace are poised to shake up the rankings with their latest releases, promising an exciting future for Canadian music.
