After a brief hiatus, The Black Crowes have made a triumphant return with their latest album, “A Pound of Feathers,” which they managed to record in just eight days. Guitarist Rich Robinson revealed that this speedy process is typical for him and his brother Chris Robinson, the band’s lead vocalist, stating that they have always been efficient when creating music. From their youth, the brothers have operated in this rapid manner, producing music spontaneously and seeing where their creativity takes them.

During the recording of “A Pound of Feathers,” Rich and Chris, along with their producer Jay Joyce, moved swiftly in the studio. Rich mentioned that by the end of the first five days, they had already completed nine songs, an impressive feat that left them feeling content with their progress. One of the lead singles from the album, “Profane Prophecy,” was described by Rich as a lively and enjoyable track that pays homage to rock ‘n’ roll music. This song captures the essence of their craftsmanship and love for the genre, serving as a loving tribute to the spirit of rock ‘n’ roll.

When asked about the influences that shaped the album, Rich acknowledged a diverse range of inspirations but emphasized that the overall sound was undeniably characteristic of The Black Crowes. Despite drawing from various sources, the band ensured that their signature style and identity were preserved in each track on “A Pound of Feathers.”

“A Pound of Feathers” marks The Black Crowes’ return following their 2024 album, “Happiness Bastards.” Rich expressed his enthusiasm for continuing to create music at a steady pace, revealing that he would happily release an album every year if given the opportunity. For him, making music is not just a passion but a labor of love that he cherishes.

The band’s latest offering, “A Pound of Feathers,” is now available for fans to enjoy. With a blend of spontaneity, creativity, and a deep-rooted love for rock ‘n’ roll, The Black Crowes have once again showcased their musical prowess and commitment to their craft.
