Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes discusses their latest album, ‘A Pound of Feathers’
After a brief hiatus, The Black Crowes have made a triumphant return with their latest album, “A Pound of Feathers,” which they managed to record in just eight days. Guitarist Rich Robinson revealed that this speedy process is typical for him and his brother Chris Robinson, the band’s lead vocalist, stating that they have always been efficient when creating music. From their youth, the brothers have operated in this rapid manner, producing music spontaneously and seeing where their creativity takes them.
During the recording of “A Pound of Feathers,” Rich and Chris, along with their producer Jay Joyce, moved swiftly in the studio. Rich mentioned that by the end of the first five days, they had already completed nine songs, an impressive feat that left them feeling content with their progress. One of the lead singles from the album, “Profane Prophecy,” was described by Rich as a lively and enjoyable track that pays homage to rock ‘n’ roll music.
