Northern Irish alt-rock stalwarts, Therapy?, have been declared as the fresh Friday night headline act at Takedown Festival 2026 following the unfortunate departure of Phil Campbell & The Bastard Sons due to Phil Campbell’s health. The former Motörhead guitarist was primed to present a specialized Motörhead-themed performance at the gathering, but due to unforeseen circumstances, the line-up had to undergo a swift alteration.

Festival organizer Kai Harris from Takedown Festival Ltd delivered the update with a poignant emphasis on Campbell’s well-being. He expressed heartfelt sentiments, highlighting that Campbell’s health and family are the top priorities in such situations. Fans were encouraged to send good wishes and a swift recovery to Campbell in light of the circumstances. Amid the unexpected turn of events, a replacement act was promptly secured, with Therapy? taking center stage on Friday night. Harris reminisced on the band’s historical significance within the festival, noting that a young version of him witnessed Therapy? perform 34 years ago, marking a symbolic connection with the group.
