Jaclyn Bradley, singer-songwriter from Lorain, debuts new single ‘Chicago’
Lorain-based singer-songwriter Jaclyn Bradley will be showcasing her latest single, titled “Chicago,” set to be released on March 20. Bradley, who also serves as the director of Rock Town Music Academy in downtown Lorain, is deeply involved in music education, teaching voice and providing a platform for other musicians to offer lessons in various instruments.
To elevate the release of her new song, Bradley has teamed up with visual artist Brooke Archer to create an animated music video that seamlessly blends animation with real footage of the city of Chicago. Collaborations with other artists are a cornerstone of Bradley’s work, as she values the creative exchange and collective energy that emerges from such partnerships.
One of the artists featured on “Chicago” is Jordan Alegant, a talented cellist from Lorain County and a graduate of the prestigious Berklee School of Music in Boston. Alegant, who spearheads cello, guitar, bass, and recording arts instruction at Rock Town Music Academy, reflected on his experience contributing to the song, expressing how it resonated with him and allowed him to craft a complimentary cello part that enriched the storytelling aspect of the music.
Additionally, Derek Connell, another Lorain-based artist, joined the project as a co-writer, adding his creative touch to the creation of “Chicago.” The song was recorded in Nashville by Austin Moorhead, a Yale graduate with a rich background working with notable artists in the music industry.
“Chicago” and its accompanying music video revolve around a narrative of a woman’s journey from uncertainty to finding joy, offering a message of comfort and hope to those navigating transitions in life. Bradley, who penned most of the song years ago during a period of personal transformation, hopes that the music and visuals will resonate with listeners and viewers, inspiring them to embrace joy, serve others, and hold onto the belief in a brighter tomorrow.
Listeners can stream “Chicago” on various music platforms while the music video is available on YouTube. To stay updated on Bradley and her music, follow her on Instagram at @iamjaclynbradley.
