Billy Bob Thornton, along with his band The Boxmasters, is set to kick off their 2026 “Morro Rock Tour,” beginning in June and stretching into August, with a stop in Denver at the Gothic Theatre on June 23. The highly-anticipated tour will feature their latest album, “In The Bay,” slated for a June 12 release. Thornton revealed that the album was inspired by the tranquil coastal town of Morro Bay, California, where the songs were either written or partly crafted. In their 21st release, The Boxmasters draw influence from iconic bands like The Beatles, The Beach Boys, The Byrds, as well as artists such as The Mothers of Invention, Kris Kristofferson, and John Prine. Thornton’s description of the album draws parallels with the legendary Brian Wilson’s style of instrumentation, reminiscent of “Pet Sounds.” Although acknowledging that they could never match the brilliance of The Beatles or The Beach Boys, Thornton expresses gratitude for the inspiration they provide.

Apart from his musical pursuits, Thornton remains active in the acting world, starring in the drama series “Landman” on Paramount+. The multi-talented artist has managed to strike a balance between his successful acting career and his passion for creating music with The Boxmasters. Fans eagerly await the chance to witness Thornton and his band perform live at the Gothic Theatre, a venue known for hosting memorable musical experiences. With tickets set to go on sale, enthusiasts will have the opportunity to secure their spots for what promises to be an electrifying performance by Billy Bob Thornton and The Boxmasters.
