KISS guitarist Ace Frehley’s frequently played guitar up for auction

Personal effects from the deceased KISS guitarist Ace Frehley will be up for auction at Julien’s Auctions’ upcoming Music Icons auction. This auction will feature over 800 items, including instruments from notable musicians like Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Bill Ward from Black Sabbath, and more.

One of the highlights of this auction is Frehley’s most used 1975 Les Paul guitar, which is expected to fetch between $400,000 and $600,000. This guitar, described as Frehley’s “constant companion,” was utilized more than any other in his collection throughout his career.

Additional items available for bidding include a 1977 tour jacket, a kimono worn during the Rock & Roll Over Tour, and a purple velvet jumpsuit donned on stage. Alongside these items are Hammett’s first Ouija ESP custom guitar, Vaughan’s 1969 Guild F-412 Twelve String guitar from his 1990 MTV Unplugged performance, Ward’s Zildjian Gong and RIAA Platinum records, and Izzy Stradlin’s 1987 Gibson HR Fusion 1 guitar used while recording Guns N’ Roses’ debut album, Appetite for Destruction.
