Billy Strings added to the lineup for Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic
On April 29th, legendary musician Willie Nelson will celebrate his 93rd birthday, showing no signs of slowing down. Recently, Nelson made his first announced appearance in six months at the Luck Reunion on March 19th, kicking off a series of exciting developments from the Willie Nelson camp. Alongside news of a new album titled Dream Chaser set to release on May 29th and upcoming tour dates in the Mid Atlantic region in April, the initial dates for his annual Outlaw Fest touring festival this summer were also revealed. As part of these festivities, details about Willie Nelson’s annual 4th of July Picnic have emerged, a tradition that dates back to his Dripping Springs Reunion in 1972, affectionately known as the “Hillbilly Woodstock.”
Joining forces with Willie Nelson on July 4th at the Germania Insurance Amphitheater in Austin, TX at the Circuit of the Americas is the immensely talented Billy Strings, who has the ability to fill arenas solo. The lineup for the event boasts an array of stellar performers, including Rodney Crowell, Wilco, Lukas Nelson, Sheryl Crow, Stephen Wilson Jr., Margo Price, and Lily Meola. While the 4th of July Picnic is a standalone event, it is also part of the broader Outlaw Fest lineup for 2026, showcasing a dozen total stops scheduled through August, with the possibility of additional dates being added later on. Tickets for the 4th of July Picnic and all Outlaw Fest dates will go on sale Friday, March 27th.
