In its 10th year in 2025, the festival hosted a range of sessions and events at 86 locations across central Sapporo, drawing a total of over 58,000 attendees. The upcoming event for 2026 is scheduled to take place from September 23 to 27, continuing its tradition of inspiring and connecting visionaries.
To facilitate increased collaboration between cities and regions, the “NoMaps TeamTOKYO” initiative was established last year. Comprising members from various companies, startups, and creators in Hokkaido and Tokyo, the team works towards bridging gaps and shaping the future of society through innovative projects. Notable initiatives include the development of projects like “Puppetry Art × Cutting-edge AI,” an exhibition featuring “Metaverse/AI × Matchmaking Support,” and networking events for creators. TeamTOKYO’s efforts have resulted in a 10.5% rise in participation from the Tokyo metropolitan area compared to the previous year.
The kick-off event in Roppongi will feature appearances by TeamTOKYO members, the NoMaps Executive Director, and contributors who were involved in last year’s festival with diverse projects from across the country. Attendees can expect an overview of NoMaps2026, a discussion session highlighting the experiences of role models who engaged in the festival with their projects, and insights into the collaborative opportunities available at “NoMaps2026.”
With a nominal participation fee of 1000 JPY, the event invites individuals from Tokyo interested in joining forces with TeamTOKYO to bring innovative ideas to life in Sapporo.
