The forthcoming release of The Volume Series by The Plot In You on July 10 via Fearless Records will combine the band’s recent EPs into a comprehensive collection. The Ohio group has unveiled the new track You Get One, along with its official video.

The reveal signifies the culmination of a thoughtfully planned rollout strategy that has spanned several years. With a remarkable 360 million global streams across their discography, The Plot In You is presenting The Volume Series as a definitive representation of their current creative phase. This collection brings together the material initially introduced in separate installments, presenting it as a cohesive body of work.

At the heart of this announcement is the new single You Get One, which is the first release linked to the final stage of this project. Frontman Landon Tewers described the song as a contemplation of modern society. “A meditation on current society,” Tewers expressed, “Up is down, down is up. Nothing is what it seems. We often forget what it means to be human.”

Musically, You Get One echoes the band’s evolving blend of heavy guitars, electronic textures, and layered vocal production. The song kicks off with glitch-inspired electronics and escalates into a compelling rhythm section, with Tewers alternating between digitally manipulated vocals and intense screams. This sonic approach reflects the band’s long-standing fusion of metalcore foundations with industrial and alternative elements.

The Volume Series compiles twelve tracks from the band’s recent EP cycle, starting with Divide and progressing through subsequent releases like Left Behind, Forgotten, Closure, and Don’t Look Away. Each installment built upon the last, enabling the band to experiment with sound and structure while maintaining a coherent narrative throughout.

This method aligns with a wider trend in the industry where artists release music gradually before consolidating it into a full-length project. In the streaming era, staggered releases help bands sustain audience engagement over extended durations instead of focusing all attention on a single album launch.

For The Plot In You, this approach not only aids in maintaining audience interest but also documents a transformative period in the band’s journey. Initially conceived as a side project by Landon Tewers during his time in Before Their Eyes, the group blossomed into a full-time endeavor following the release of the EP Wife Beater in 2010.

Over subsequent albums, The Plot In You diversified their sound. While albums like Happiness In Self Destruction in 2015 broadened their melodic scope, Dispose in 2018 incorporated more experimental production, electronics, and alternative rock influences. By the release of Swan Song in 2021, the band fully embraced a dynamic approach oscillating between heavy breakdowns, atmospheric interludes, and introspective lyricism.

The current lineup comprises Tewers, guitarist Josh Childress, bassist Ethan Yoder, and drummer Michael Cooper. Through extensive touring across North America, Europe, and Australia, the band has cultivated an international following within the alternative and heavy music scenes.

The EP cycle forming The Volume Series marks a return to heavier tones while retaining the melodic and electronic elements honed over the past decade. Tracks like Closure, Pretend, and Silence showcase the band’s ongoing dedication to emotive storytelling coupled with rich, contemporary production.

The Volume Series encapsulates a pivotal moment as The Plot In You transitions from a sequence of experimental EP releases to a cohesive album-length statement. The addition of You Get One completes this artistic puzzle, offering fans a comprehensive experience from this talented Ohio outfit.
