After more than 65 years in the industry, Appice continues to make music with Cactus, being the only original member left. His commitment to the band is evident in the recent release of their new album, “Temple of the Blues II,” which boasts an array of guest appearances from notable musicians like Bumblefoot, Steve Morse, and Dee Snider. The album, a follow-up to their 2024 release, features covers of classic songs, including a rendition of the Jimi Hendrix Experience’s “Purple Haze.”

Throughout his career, Appice has collaborated with a diverse range of artists, from Mike Bloomfield’s KGB to Ozzy Osbourne, showcasing his versatility and musical prowess. His passion for working with guitar greats led him to produce a series of Guitar Zeus albums, further solidifying his reputation as a respected and influential musician in the rock genre.

In his 2016 memoir, “Stick It!: My Life of Sex, Drums & Rock ‘n’ Roll,” Appice delves into his experiences with iconic figures like Jimi Hendrix, sharing anecdotes from their time together before Hendrix became a household name. Appice’s reminiscences are a testament to his rich history in the music industry and the profound impact he has had on the rock scene.
