Peter Wolf, ex-lead singer of J. Geils Band, to perform at the Fillmore on Friday night
The long-awaited return of former J. Geils Band frontman, Peter Wolf, to the stage in Detroit is finally here. Riding high on the success of his bestselling memoir, “Waiting on the Moon,” Wolf is set to perform at the Fillmore on Friday night. Known as the “Woofa Goofa,” Wolf has been a significant figure in Detroit’s rock ‘n’ roll history for over five decades.
With a series of electrifying shows at various venues in Detroit, including the Grande Ballroom and Cobo Arena, Wolf and the J. Geils Band have left a lasting impression on the city. However, it was their legendary live album, “Full House,” recorded at the Cinderella Ballroom in 1972, that truly captures the essence of the band’s energy and spontaneity. Rhino Entertainment recently reissued the album on vinyl, accompanied by new liner notes from Wolf himself.
