Boston Bootboys Release New Song “Nothing Makes Sense”
In 2023, Badterms released their self-titled debut EP, and since then, they have been gaining momentum rather than slowing down. Over the past eight months, these Boston bootboys have been incredibly active, performing at Canadian festivals, embarking on a European tour, and continuing to play across the East Coast.
Now, as they prepare for another European tour, Badterms is releasing “Nest of Vipers,” a new collection of previously unreleased songs that builds off the success of their last year’s Panic Age LP.
This time, Curt Florczak and Hans Molnar, the founding members of Badterms, are joined by Jason Hunt on guitar, Mike Reinhalter on drums, and Dominic DiNardo on bass for this latest record. The full live lineup results in a more cohesive and well-rounded band with a focus on their sharp songwriting and straightforward delivery.
Similar to their labelmates No Time, Badterms uses each release as an opportunity to elevate their music, and “Nest of Vipers” reflects this trajectory. The tracks are unapologetic, featuring blazing riffs, tight rhythm sections, and catchy hooks that immediately grab the listener’s attention, all delivered with a relentless sense of urgency.
Today, we are excited to premiere “Nothing Makes Sense,” a track that encapsulates the essence of Badterms, as described by Florczak: “Nothing makes sense in the modern world. And yet, here we are. Bombarded every minute of every day with the most insane, unimaginable absurdities, and horrors. The bad guys keep on winning. But, there’s still plenty of us who remember life before the utter chaos which we now inhabit.”
This tension is palpable throughout the song, balancing frustration with defiance. Florczak hopes that through their swaggering rock ‘n’ roll anthem, they can provide a moment of respite for the world-weary hearts of their audience.
Once again, Badterms impresses with their ability to infuse real-world weight into their music, creating something that is both immediate and therapeutic. Rooted in skinhead rock ‘n’ roll and Oi!, their sound is a blend of classic and contemporary, drawing from established traditions while remaining relevant.
“Nothing Makes Sense” is a testament to Badterms’ dedication and growth as a band, showcasing their evolving sound and raw authenticity. With “Nest of Vipers” set to release on April 24th through TKO Records (US) and Contra Records (EU), fans can look forward to more of Badterms’ signature style and energy.
