Kid Rock loses festival headliner status following discounted ticket sales

The musician known as Kid Rock recently made a surprising announcement regarding his Rock the Country music festival. He shared on Instagram that ticket prices for the festival will be reduced by a significant 50%. While this news may have delighted fans looking for a deal, it also came with a change in the festival’s headliner lineup. Jelly Roll, originally set to headline one of the shows in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on June 28, has now dropped out of the event.

Instead of Jelly Roll, rock band Staind will be taking the stage at the festival. This alteration in the headliner has left many fans disappointed, especially since the festival has been facing challenges in selling tickets, leading to concerns about potential cancelation.

Despite this setback, Jelly Roll fans can still catch the artist at other stops on the tour, including Bloomingdale, Georgia, and Ashland, Kentucky. To further entice festival-goers, additional artists like Miranda Lambert and Jon Pardi have been added to the lineup for the Ocala, Florida shows on August 28 and 29.

The festival organizers took to Instagram to share the news with fans, highlighting the motivation behind the ticket price reduction. Rising transportation costs have prompted the decision to offer a discount of up to 50% on general admission passes for the seven small town stops on the tour. Fans can take advantage of this limited-time offer by using the code FUEL to purchase single-day tickets for $59 and weekend passes for $99 at rockthecountry.com until April 23rd.

While some fans are excited about the discounted tickets, others who have already purchased tickets are demanding refunds. Concerns have been raised about feeling penalized for buying tickets early, now that a significant discount has been introduced.

Rock the Country is a touring music festival envisioned by Kid Rock in 2024. The festival aims to bring popular artists to small towns across America to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence. Artists like Jason Aldean, Creed, Blake Shelton, and Brooks & Dunn are slated to headline the event, alongside other performers like Lynyrd Skynyrd, Riley Green, Hank Williams Jr., and Nelly.

With shows scheduled from May 1 to September 12, Rock the Country will feature performances in seven small towns, including Bellville, Texas, Bloomingdale, Georgia, Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Ashland, Kentucky, Hastings, Michigan, Ocala, Florida, and Hamburg, New York State. Despite the challenges faced by the festival, organizers are hopeful that the lineup of talented artists and the discounted tickets will attract audiences to celebrate country music in these small town settings.
