Kid Rock speaks out after being required to lower prices for MAGA music festival tickets
Kid Rock is facing criticism for reducing ticket prices by 50% for his Rock the Country music festival. The discounted tickets are a part of his efforts to increase ticket sales for the event, which is traveling across small towns in the United States this spring and summer to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary.
The controversy surrounding the discounted tickets comes on the heels of Kid Rock’s recent stunt involving a military helicopter at his White House replica mansion, which garnered considerable attention. While the festival was initially expected to draw in large crowds, it seems to be struggling to achieve full capacity, leading Kid Rock to introduce the 50% discount on ticket prices.
In response to rising transportation costs across America, the promotion for the discounted tickets on the Rock the Country Instagram page states, “Fuel costs are up and we want to help!” The discounted tickets, available for purchase until April 23rd, include $59 single-day passes and $99 weekend general admission passes for seven small-town stops of the festival.
As an incentive to attract more attendees, rock band Staind has been added as a headliner for the Sunday, June 28th performance, replacing Jelly Roll due to scheduling conflicts. Despite this change, Jelly Roll is still scheduled to perform at other festival dates in Bloomingdale, Georgia, and Ashland, Kentucky.
The festival lineup includes a stellar list of country music artists such as Miranda Lambert and Jon Pardi, who are set to perform at the Ocala, Florida date in August. Other confirmed artists include Riley Green, Ella Langley, Brooks & Dunn, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Brantley Gilbert, Treaty Oak Revival, and more, making it a highly anticipated musical event.
However, the announcement of discounted tickets has left some early buyers feeling frustrated, with several fans expressing discontent in the comments section of the post. Some fans who had already purchased tickets voiced their disappointment, questioning why they were not informed of the discounts earlier or offered refunds for the price difference. One fan remarked, “What about if we already purchased tickets? A little unfair to drop the prices!” while another fan criticized the festival’s decision, stating, “You’re gonna lose more customers for years to come if you don’t offer refunds when u do price changes or change the artists in the lineups.”
