Major setback for Kid Rock as festival headliner cancels amid growing fears of cancellations
Kid Rock is facing setbacks regarding his upcoming music festival, Rock the Country, as ticket prices have been slashed by 50%. In a recent announcement posted on Instagram, Kid Rock revealed the price reduction, much to the delight of fans seeking more affordable tickets. However, disappointment followed as it was also disclosed that Jelly Roll would no longer be headlining one of the performances scheduled for the Sioux Falls, South Dakota show on June 28. To fill Jelly Roll’s void, rock band Staind will be stepping in for the event.
The Rock the Country festival has been struggling with ticket sales, prompting concerns among attendees that the festival may be at risk of cancellation. Despite Jelly Roll no longer being part of the Sioux Falls show, fans can still catch the 41-year-old artist during performances in Bloomingdale, Georgia, and Ashland, Kentucky. Additionally, new performers such as Miranda Lambert and Jon Pardi have been added to the lineup for the Ocala, Florida dates on August 28 and 29.
Rock the Country took to Instagram to provide an update, informing followers of the changes. In a statement, the festival expressed the need to address rising fuel costs by offering discounted general admission passes for all seven stops on the tour. With a promotional code FUEL, fans can purchase single-day passes for $59 and weekend passes for $99, valid until April 23rd. While this discount may attract new ticket buyers, those who had already purchased tickets are now requesting refunds.
Some loyal fans who had previously bought tickets expressed their frustration over missing out on the opportunity to save money. Many wondered if they could apply the discount retroactively to their existing purchases, feeling penalized for buying tickets early.
