Excitement is building for fans of the Muppets as Disney has finally dropped some major news about the updated Rock ‘N’ Rollercoaster at Walt Disney World. The official opening date for this thrilling ride is set for May 26, which is just around the corner for eager fans looking forward to rocking out with the Electric Mayhem.
One of the most anticipated aspects of the new ride is the track list of songs that riders will experience. The Electric Mayhem and their Muppet collaborators will be covering some beloved rock songs, including hits like “Song 2” by Blur, “Born to be Wild” by Steppenwolf featuring Camilla the Chicken, “Love Rollercoaster” by Ohio Players featuring Jennifer Hudson and Questlove, “Rock! Rock! (Till You Drop)” by Def Leppard featuring Def Leppard themselves, and “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina and the Waves featuring Kelly Clarkson.
Disney Parks Blog has hinted at the possibility of bonus tracks being included, keeping the excitement high for what surprises may be in store for riders. Additionally, Muppet Labs’ new L.I.M.O. transportation system will be featured, offering a unique and immersive experience for guests.
Unlike the previous version of the ride, a single song will now play for the entirety of the ride, adding a new dynamic to the experience. The songs will also be played randomly, regardless of which L.I.M.O. guests are in, adding an element of surprise to each ride.
No Muppet attraction would be complete without celebrity cameos, and this ride is no exception. From Awkwafina to “Weird Al” Yankovic, guests can look forward to spotting familiar faces throughout the ride and in the gift shop at the conclusion of the experience.
The queue for the ride will be adorned with posters featuring nods to iconic Muppet locations like the Muppet Pipes at NBC Studios in New York City and Jimmy Shoe. These details add to the immersive experience of being transported into the world of the Muppets.
In addition to the exciting details about the ride itself, fans have been treated to a look at the Electric Mayhem’s performance of “Can You Picture That?” as part of the ride experience. While some have speculated that these performances are audio-animatronics, it has been confirmed that they are indeed the actual Muppet puppets, adding an authentic and nostalgic touch to the attraction.
With so much to look forward to, fans of the Muppets and Disney Parks alike are eagerly counting down the days until they can experience the magic of the updated Rock ‘N’ Rollercoaster with the Muppets. Get ready to rock and roll with Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the rest of the gang on this electrifying new ride!
