Southern Nevada health officials promote affordable vaccines for National Infant Health Week
In Southern Nevada, health officials are currently advocating for parents to vaccinate their young children in light of National Infant Immunization Week, scheduled from April 20 to April 27. The Southern Nevada Health District has emphasized the availability of affordable vaccines for babies and toddlers this week.
The health district has organized a special clinic named “Mama Bear, Papa Bear” which is set to take place on Monday, April 20, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Red Rock Conference Room on South Decatur Boulevard. This clinic aims to provide families with childhood immunizations, diapers, and resources, along with assistance in accessing immunization records. Families can also expect to receive valuable information on safe sleeping practices, car seat safety, and early childhood development during the event.
Throughout the National Infant Immunization Week, various health district clinics in Las Vegas, East Las Vegas, Henderson, and Mesquite will be offering vaccines, giveaways for kids, and raffle entries during their regular immunization hours. Parents are encouraged to make appointments online at snhd.info/immunizations or through phone calls. The health district has opened up same-day slots for children from birth to three years old, ensuring convenient access to vaccines for concerned parents.
The goal of this campaign is to raise awareness among parents about the importance of immunizing their young children and the accessibility of low-cost vaccines. By providing essential information about proper vaccination and offering resources to families, the health district aims to create a supportive environment for parents seeking to protect their children from preventable diseases.
Southern Nevada health officials stress the significance of early childhood immunization in safeguarding children’s health and well-being. By promoting National Infant Immunization Week and organizing various clinics and initiatives, they aim to increase immunization rates among young children in the community. Parents are encouraged to take advantage of the resources and services provided by the health district during this important week dedicated to child health and safety.
