Major setback for Kid Rock as festival headliner cancels amid increasing cancellation concerns
Kid Rock has made a surprising announcement regarding his music festival, Rock the Country. The rockstar revealed that ticket prices for the event have been reduced by 50%, causing fans to both rejoice at the affordability and worry about potential cancellations, with reports suggesting that the festival has been struggling to sell tickets.
In addition to the price cut, Kid Rock shared on Instagram that Jelly Roll, a scheduled headliner for the Sioux Falls show on June 28, has withdrawn from the lineup. However, rather than leaving a void, rock band Staind will fill in for Jelly Roll at the event. Despite this change, Jelly Roll will still be performing at upcoming shows in Bloomingdale, Georgia, and Ashland, Kentucky.
Furthermore, the festival has seen additions to the lineup, with Miranda Lambert and Jon Pardi confirmed to perform in Ocala, Florida, on August 28 and 29. Rock the Country made a social media announcement addressing the changes, offering discounted tickets with the code FUEL due to rising transportation costs.
While the reduced ticket prices may excite many fans, those who had previously purchased full-priced tickets are expressing disappointment. Some are demanding refunds, feeling penalized for being early purchasers. The festival organizers are navigating these challenges as they work towards delivering an unforgettable experience for attendees.
Rock the Country, a touring music festival co-founded by Kid Rock in 2024, aims to bring prominent country music acts to smaller American communities. This year’s event is especially significant as it commemorates the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence. The star-studded lineup includes headliners like Kid Rock, Jason Aldean, Creed, Blake Shelton, and Brooks & Dunn, among others.
Scheduled performances by Ella Langley, Chase Matthew, Josh Ross, Hudson Westbrook, and Gavin Adcock promise to add diversity and excitement to the festival. Despite some setbacks with artists like Shinedown, Ludacris, Morgan Wade, and Carter Faith withdrawing from the lineup, the festival organizers are dedicated to putting on a memorable and entertaining show.
Rock the Country will take place from May to September, featuring performances in seven small towns across the United States. Starting in Bellville, Texas, and Bloomingdale, Georgia, in May, the festival will then move to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, in June, followed by stops in Ashland, Kentucky, Hastings, Michigan, Ocala, Florida, and concluding in Hamburg, New York State in September. Fans can brace themselves for a captivating music experience celebrating country music in the heart of America.
