Southall reveals upcoming album “Kinfolk” – Country Central
Southall, the band fronted by vocalist and guitarist Read Southall, is preparing to unveil its latest album, “Kinfolk,” on May 1st. The announcement comes on the heels of the release of two singles, “Burning Bridges” and “Freight Train.”
The upcoming nine-track album was produced by Wes Sharon, a Grammy Award-nominated producer known for his work with artists such as John Fullbright and the Turnpike Troubadours. This album follows Southall’s 2023 self-titled album and the 2025 project, “The Six String Sorrow Sessions.”
To coincide with the album’s release, Southall has scheduled an extensive touring lineup. The band will be kicking off their tour opening for ZZ Top and Dwight Yoakam on an arena tour before joining The Black Crowes and Whiskey Myers for the Southern Hospitality Tour, which is described by the band as the most extensive tour of their career. The tour is set to run from May to August, with notable stops including Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on May 21, Forest Hills Stadium in New York City on June 13, and the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California on August 20.
Formed around the release of their debut album in 2015, “Six String Sorrow,” Southall describes “Kinfolk” as revolving thematically around family, legacy, loss, and love.
The band’s upcoming tour dates include performances in various locations such as Fort Wayne, IN, Peoria, IL, Bonner Springs, KS, Des Moines, IA, Camdenton, MO, Tyler, TX, Austin, TX, Rogers, AR, Nashville, TN, Alpharetta, GA, Birmingham, AL, Brandon, MS, Orange Beach, AL, Hollywood, FL, Tampa, FL, Saint Augustine, FL, Augusta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Raleigh, NC, Cincinnati, OH, Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Camden, NJ, New York City, NY, and many more cities across the USA and Canada.
