The band, which combined the talents of Chris Cornell from Soundgarden and members of Rage Against The Machine – Tom Morello, Tim Commerford, and Brad Wilk, will see a new remastered version of their iconic album hitting shelves.

Levi Seitz of Black Belt Mastering has meticulously remastered ‘Out of Exile’ for this special release. Fans can choose between a standard 180-gram Black Vinyl edition or a limited edition D2C Black Liquid Vinyl pressing that draws inspiration from the album’s cover art. The album will be housed in a die-cut gatefold jacket to beautifully present the disc.

Originally released on May 23, 2005, ‘Out of Exile’ made a significant impact by debuting at the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart and achieving Platinum certification by the RIAA. Its singles, “Doesn’t Remind Me” and “Be Yourself,” garnered critical acclaim, with the former even earning a GRAMMY® Award nomination for “Best Hard Rock Performance.” Chris Cornell expressed that ‘Out of Exile’ was his most personal work to date, symbolizing a new chapter in his life. Coming from a place of newfound clarity, joy, and love, he contrasted it with his previous material that delved into darker emotions.

This album marked a shift for Cornell, who highlighted his personal growth, sobriety, marriage, and impending fatherhood as sources of inspiration. The record captured a moment of openness in his life, allowing him to write with a newfound sense of vulnerability and honesty. Collaborating once again with Rick Rubin, Audioslave delivered a profound and introspective body of work.

One of the album’s standout moments was its debut in Cuba, where Audioslave played a historic concert for over 70,000 fans, becoming the first American rock group to perform an open-air show in the country. The electrifying performance was recorded and later released as the ‘Live In Cuba’ DVD, immortalizing the band’s connection with their audience.

The tracklisting for the vinyl release includes hits like “Your Time Has Come,” “Be Yourself,” “Heaven’s Dead,” and more, capturing the essence and energy of ‘Out of Exile.’ This vinyl reissue serves as a timeless tribute to Audioslave’s musical legacy and the emotional depth embedded in their music. Stay tuned for the release of this groundbreaking vinyl record on June 12, 2026.
