Earlier this year, Swapmeet caught our attention with their debut single, “I Know!,” released under their new label Winspear. The Australian indie rock band has now announced their first full-length album, Mount Zero, set to be released in July. To give fans a taste of what’s to come, Swapmeet has shared another track from the upcoming album titled “Sand.”

“Sand” showcases the talents of guitarist Venus O’Broin and guitarist/drummer Jack Medlyn, who take turns sharing lead vocals on the song. It seamlessly blends moments of laid-back slacker-rock with bursts of energetic noise, creating a unique and captivating sound. Medlyn provides insight into the inspiration behind the track, explaining that “Sand” is about the frustration of wasting your own time and feeling angry with yourself, as well as the subtle resentment towards the creators of addictive apps and technology.

The accompanying music video directed by David Milan Kelly complements the vibe of “Sand,” featuring beachside imagery that enhances the song’s introspective and contemplative mood. In addition to “Sand,” the complete tracklist for Mount Zero includes eight other songs: “I Know!,” “Mount Zero,” “Bonny,” “Halfway,” “2 C U,” “Seeds,” “Personal (Don’t Take It),” and “My Heart Breaks II.”

Fans can mark their calendars for the release of Mount Zero on July 17th, eagerly anticipating Swapmeet’s full-length debut album. With their dynamic sound and thoughtful lyrics, Swapmeet is poised to make a significant impact on the indie rock scene with Mount Zero. Be sure to keep an eye out for this promising Australian band and immerse yourself in the captivating world of Swapmeet.
