Treaty Oak Revival’s energetic country rock guitar music

Treaty Oak Revival, a punk-country-rock band hailing from Odessa, Texas, is riding high on success with their unique blend of vibrant sounds. Lead singer Sam Canty describes the group as a rock band with a country twist, a description that has landed them major gigs at events like the Warped Tour and Stagecoach, as well as sold-out shows of their own.

Their music has also been featured on Paramount Plus’ Landman, further solidifying their presence in the music industry. Lead guitarist Jeremiah Vanley recalls a rowdy outdoor performance in Easley, South Carolina, where singer Sam Canty was hit in the face with a beer can. While the incident left Canty bloodied, he powered through and continued the show. Despite the physical setback, Jeremiah’s nephew and rhythm guitarist, Lance Vanley, highlights the band’s resilience in the face of adversity. He mentions the confusion surrounding why fans would resort to throwing cans at them during performances.

Treaty Oak Revival’s musical influences shine through in their album West Texas Degenerate, showcasing the band’s diverse background in Metallica and Switchfoot covers. Tracks like “Port A” blend boot-stomping grit with pop-punk hooks, while the bass-heavy chorus in “Shit Hill” briefly flirts with grunge elements. The album’s opening track, featuring guest guitarist Edgar Viveros of Ben Quad, introduces layers of emo textures and guitars reminiscent of Neal Schon and Michael Schenker.
