The Las Vegas-based pop-rock band, The Cab, has recently unveiled their latest studio album, ‘Chasing Crowns’, heralding their return after a 15-year hiatus from full-length album releases and marking it as the third installment in their discography. This 18-track independent endeavor, obtainable in digital format and on vinyl, features hits like ‘Sweet Kerosene’, ‘Locked and Loaded’, and ‘Back From The Dead’, alongside the recent spotlight single ‘ih8yourgutz’. The album also includes the four tracks from their ‘Road To Reign: A Prelude EP’ released the previous autumn, signifying the band’s reemergence onto the music scene after over a decade of absence.

“Chasing Crowns is now in your hands,” The Cab shares with their fans. “Its essence and tales have been extracted from our personal diaries and experiences, every page etched with blood, sweat, and tears. In many ways, it feels like a small miracle. This journey wouldn’t have been possible without your unwavering support and belief in us. There were instances where we doubted this moment would ever materialize. Life can be tumultuous, unkind, and burdensome. However, it also blossoms, serenades, and soars. It may have its challenges, but with all of you as our guiding star and the wind propelling our sails, we are confident that we will always find our way back home. Our hope is that you derive as much joy from this album as we did in creating it. It no longer belongs to us; it is now in your hands. It serves as our vessel. Ultimately, beauty doesn’t lie in flawlessness; it lies in resilience. This album has taught us that lesson.”

‘Chasing Crowns’ symbolizes a momentous new chapter for The Cab. Crafted over the past decade in various cities across the globe, this album encapsulates their personal and musical growth during their time apart, featuring snapshots of different periods in the band members’ lives. The core message of ‘Chasing Crowns’ underscores the insignificance of the material pursuits we chase in life – be it crowns, jewels, or success – emphasizing instead the importance of how we impact others emotionally.

This theme of introspection resonates throughout the tracks, drawing inspiration from the Japanese technique of Kintsugi – the art of mending broken pottery with gold, where the fractures are not concealed but celebrated as part of the narrative – as evidenced in the album’s cover artwork. Today, those fractured segments have united to form The Cab once more, fortified by their experiences. ‘Chasing Crowns’ is a testament to The Cab’s versatility in seamlessly transitioning across genres while delivering a coherent body of work.

From the electrifying ‘Locked and Loaded’ and the irresistibly catchy ‘Back From The Dead’ – praised as a “captivating pop-rock anthem” – to the melodic allure of ‘Sweet Kerosene’ and the poignant penultimate track ‘Hellraiser’, penned for lead singer Alex DeLeon’s daughter, The Cab’s songwriting prowess shines brightly on ‘Chasing Crowns.’
