Keith Urban’s Reaction to ‘King of Yacht Rock’ with New Album in the Works

Keith Urban took to social media on Tuesday to express his admiration for the legendary Michael McDonald. In an “appreciation post,” the country music icon shared a video showcasing his reaction to McDonald’s vocals on “We Go Back,” a track featured on Urban’s upcoming yacht rock album.

Clearly impressed by McDonald’s contribution, Urban referred to him as “the king of yacht rock.” He narrated how he personally reached out to McDonald and requested him to lend his vocals to “We Go Back,” the only original song on the album. Urban shared his excitement that McDonald enthusiastically agreed to collaborate on the project.

Urban’s new album, titled Flow State, comprises 11 tracks that embody the laid-back essence of classic yacht rock. Intending to rejuvenate and celebrate timeless tunes, the record promises to evoke nostalgic beach vibes that beckon listeners to enjoy summer moments with music that calls for sunscreen and cocktails. Notable appearances on the album include collaborations with Little Big Town and John Mayer.

Among the album’s tracklist are songs like “Steal Away,” “Baby Come Back,” and “Magnet and Steel” featuring Little Big Town. Additionally, Urban’s album will include classics such as “Just the Two of Us,” “On and On,” and “Summer Breeze,” which aim to transport audiences to a carefree state of mind.
